Privacy

This page says what happens to your data when you visit this site or write to me. In short: no cookies, no adverts and no profile of you.

Who is responsible

This is the personal site of Oscar Arson Saiz. I am based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and I decide what the site does with data. You can reach me at contact@kavaliero.com.

What the site records on its own

To serve the pages and keep them safe, the host processes technical data from every visit, such as the IP address, the date and the page asked for.

I count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and does not identify you. For each page view it records the time, the page, the page you came from, the kind of device, its browser and operating system, and an approximate place (country, region and city) worked out from the IP address. The figures are not tied to your IP address.

To tell one visit from the next, Vercel makes a code out of the request itself and discards it after 24 hours. It cannot follow you from one day to another, or from this site to any other.

What is kept in your browser

The site sets no cookies.

It keeps one note in your browser: which of its two layers you left it on, the surface or what is beneath, so that it opens the same way next time. When you change language, a second note lasts until the next page has loaded, so that page skips the long opening. Neither identifies you, and neither is sent anywhere.

If you write to me

If you email me, I receive your address and whatever you choose to tell me. I use it to answer you and for the work that may follow. I do not add you to a list, and I do not pass your details on.

Leave passwords, keys and other people's data out of a first message. I do not need them to answer.

Who else handles your data

Vercel Inc., a company in the United States, hosts the site and provides the visit counts. The technical data above can therefore be handled outside the country you live in.

Nobody else receives anything. The site loads no fonts, scripts, maps, videos or adverts from other companies.

The links to LinkedIn, to my companies and to the sites in the case studies lead to pages with policies of their own.

Why I may use it

Counting visits and keeping the site safe rest on my legitimate interest in running it, done in a way that singles nobody out. Answering an email rests on your having written.

How long it is kept

The visit counts hold nothing that points to a person. I keep an email for as long as the conversation, or the work it leads to, needs it, and I delete it when you ask.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, and ask me to correct it, delete it or stop using it. In practice that can only be something you sent me, because the site itself keeps nothing that points to a person.

Write to contact@kavaliero.com. I will answer as soon as I can, and within a month at most.

If you think I have handled your data badly, you can also complain to the data protection authority of the country where you live.

Changes to this page

If the site starts doing anything else with data, this page will say so first.
